Actress is an artist that can put me in a such a unique mindset. I’ve given his “Splazsh” album countless listens and always marvel at the atmosphere created. He has just released his R.I.P album through Honest Jon’s Records, I don’t have it yet, but from these tracks I’ve heard via Youtube, I cannot wait to go pick it up.

His interviews with The Guardian and Dazed Digital take you deep into his vision, cheers to Actress!

P.S. If you’re in London, there will be an R.I.P launch party at Plastic People on 4/27

Cheers to all you lucky fellows with Zomby’s 12″ reissue for Record Store Day. If you can’t find the vinyl, get this shit in digital or cd form, “Where Were U In ’92?” has become a very influential record to me as a producer. I was able to work the Zomby show at Decibel Festival 2011, he was kind to me and it was an honor to be in the presence of a musical genius. With a raw and unflinching attitude, Zomby is an artist to cherish.

First off, happy 420. Admin is back for a second time on Disco Droppings. Catch up and learn about his upcoming releases below. One thing not mentioned in the interview is his remix of Mike G‘s “Boost”, out in June on Car Crash Set. Keep your ears tuned, this track may appear in upcoming dj sets of mine.

DD Welcome back Adam. What have you been up to since I talked to you in September 2011? It’s been a little while!

A Thanks for having me back! Since we last spoke I’ve been working on some new tracks, playing some sets and just generally chilling. Met some great people this year already and I can’t wait for the summer. Going to be a good ‘un!

DD 2 new tracks of yours on Soundcloud are forthcoming, the labels releasing them have not been announced yet . There’s “Behind You” and “Hustle Me” which I’m especially fond of. How did you go about finding a place for these to be officially released?

A I always try to make sure that I can reply to everyone that messages me about tunes, and a lot of people do! I always appreciate the feedback, and when a label asks if I can send any demos I always make sure I do, even if it is a bit later on in the future. I owe a lot to Soundcloud, I don’t think I would be so confident making music without the support I’ve had from people on there. But yeah, whenever I’m happy with a track I’ll send it about to hear what people think…

DD What’s been inspiring you lately?

A Film and cinematography, strong images and stories really inspire me. and the support from my friends.

DD Last words? Pleasure having you on DD.

A Thanks again, keep listening. :]

Spotlight on Altrac Productions for creating this new video. If you enjoy the tune, there’s a free download here. Interview with Kid Smpl below..

DD 3rd time here on Disco Droppings, this time for a new music video for “Keep It Close”. How’s your week been so far?

KS Been pretty low-key so far, definitely a relaxing week.

DD How did you first connect with Sawyer and Altrac Productions? How much input did you give for the style of shooting and the environment shown?

KS Sawyer and I met our freshman year of college so we’ve known each other for about 4 years now, long before our music and film careers were going anywhere haha.

I didn’t give too much input on the creative direction of the video however that was completely out of choice. Both Sawyer and Ben at Altrac have a really solid understanding of my music and how I like it to be presented so it doesn’t take too much input from myself in order for them to make a video that I like.

DD I saw a mention of a visual collaboration with Altrac Productions next month. Can you mention any more of those details? Which show?

KS Yep! really excited for that. The visual collaboration will be part of an event called 4X4 that will be happening at the Northwest Film Forum on May 24th. Don’t want to give away too many details but I will be performing a live set accompanied by live projections by Altrac. It should be really interesting.
